48v System:

  • 32 x 3.2v 206AH Lithium Batteries (equivalent to 8 x 206AH 12v batteries or 1648AH)
  • 48v/16S BMS
  • 4 x 8S Active Balancers (Not installed yet)

Cost: 32 x 206ah Kit with BMS (48V x 2) $8500 4 x 8S Active Balancers $738.72 (didn’t use - in storage should they be needed) 1 x 4S Active Balancer $83.95

12v House Batteries:

  • 4 x 308AH Lithium batteries
  • 1 x 4S Active Balancer.

Solar

4 x 12v house panels 240v power system is only charged from power point at this stage or generator. Due to needing flexible solar panels to use the remaining space available.

Travel Preparations

Equipment

If staying more than 5 Nights:

  • Washer and Dryer on Back.
  • Check Water connections to Washer.
  • Waste Hose (this goes behind the Dryer)
  • Wool Soap bottle (1 bottle per 5 days)

External Storage Check - Drivers side under vehicle:

  • Water Hose, Fittings for different taps, and 2 stage water filter. Hose for Tank to refill.
  • 2 x 15A Extension Leads and 10A to 15A adapter.
  • Spare Black Water Waste Tank (if staying a while in camp ground)

External Storage Check - Passenger side under vehicle:

External Storage Check - Boot:

  • 2 Plastic tables and 2 long seats
  • Scooter (Charger in bottom draw) - Only needed when not taking Car.
  • 3 person seat x 2
  • Aluminium table

Generator Cabinet:

  • Spare Gas Bottle - We only need generator for long (5+ day) trips without power point to recharge 240v Lithium Batteries.
Vehicle Supplies
  • Water (100L full for free camping, 50L 1/2 for day use to save weight and use less fuel).
  • Waste Water from Sink/Shower - Confirm Empty and Tap open.
  • Black Water emptied and Toilet water tank full.
  • 12v Battery - Check Full using iPhone App
  • 48v Battery - Check full using iPhone App or Website.
  • Diesel - Fill before or plan stop on way.
  • 20L Backup Diesel drum - Fill if free camping (also used for Heater)
  • 5L Diesel heater drum (less weight for filling heater) if free camping in winter.

  • 10-25L x 1L Tetra pack Milk. 25L perfectly fits an IKEA Cube box and nicely sits under Bed.

  • Snacks go above kitchen - Spares go under bed.
  • Bread + Butter + Jam + Peanut Butter + Chicken
  • Fruit - Lots of fruit
  • Cereal - Easy Meal
  • Eggs x Days
  • Soy Sauce (For Veggies and Rice)

  • Chicken Breast (Cooked in Pot worked well)
  • Choc Biscuits - Removes us purchasing them on the road.

  • Raw Chicken meat - We didn’t end up cooking it. (Might be different if staying in one place for 2+ Days)

  • Towels - 2 per person. (8 Towels) Allowing them to be washed and used on floor.
    • Spare towels above Seats.
  • Clothes - Kids
    • Two IKEA Cubes in bedroom. Clothes in each.
  • Clothes - Adults
    • Above double bed. His and Hers on each side of back wall.

Return Home

  • Wash all dirty clothes and towels
  • Run RV Dishwasher with any final items and return to shelving
  • Turn off freezer and move items into house.
  • Empty Toilet and wash
  • Remove unused clothes and empty cupboards.
  • Vinegar Spray everything and clean

  • Send specs to Local Mechanic and see if they can get cheaper wholesale. H7 12V LOW Beam lights Tried Philips Premium Vision H7 12972PR 55W (Made in China) but didn’t notice any difference. Headlight enclosure needs replacing due to age of plastic lense.
